Mekaeel: On March 6th, 2020 Lil Uzi Vert shocked the world by releasing his long-awaited Eternal Atake. Uzi had the world wait over three years before releasing this 18 track record. On the 9th of December 2018, Uzi had confirmed that he had completed the album and was waiting to release it. On the 11th of January 2019, he had deleted all posts on social media and said that he would be quitting music and allegedly purchased a jewelry store. After taking an eleven-month break from music Uzi released the first single from EA, “Futsal Shuffle” on December 13th, 2019. Subsequently, on March 1st, 2019 Uzi spontaneously released the second single from the album, “That Way.” This single took social media by storm as Uzi sampled The Backstreet Boys hit song, “I Want It That Way.” On February 28th, 2020 Uzi made a statement on Instagram Live saying that the album would be releasing in two weeks. As the album was planned to be released on March 13th, 2020, Uzi dropped the album out of the blue on March 6th, 2020.
Although his fans had been waiting for the album for three years, it sadly did not meet the standards of his first studio album, “Luv Is Rage 2” and did not meet the hype in general. Now, this doesn’t mean that there weren’t any good songs, because there were some good songs. The Album consisted of great songs like Baby Pluto, Homecoming, Chrome Heart Tags, I’m Sorry, Venetia and fan favorite, Prices. Lil Uzi Vert sampled Travis Scotts beat from his song “Way Back” from the album “Birds in the Trap Sing by McKnight.” Although this handful of songs are very good, they sadly don’t meet the standard left by “Luv Is Rage 2” as that album had classics like Sauce It Up, The Way Life Goes, For Real, Dark Queen and Diamond Recond, XO Tour Llif3.
Despite the fact that Eternal Atake didn’t meet the standards of Uzi’s previous projects and because he kept us waiting for three years Eternal Atake will be given a 6/10 rating. Although this album was rated relatively low, Uzi will return with new and better music in the future.
Overall 6/10: Didn’t meet the hype after keeping everyone waiting for three years, but had a few good songs.
