Internet Money: B4 THE STORM Review

Mekaael: Music. To create music, the process is a lot more complicated than one may believe. Initially the artist needs to find a beat which is made by a beat maker or a producer. This can happen in many ways but from there the artist will spend days, weeks, months or even years working on the lyrics on the song, making sure they fit the beat. The lyrics are made in one of three ways. Purely written by the artist, written by the artist and another hired writer or only written by a writer. From there the artist will usually hire a professional producer to be the glue between the beat and the lyrics. On top of that they are in charge of managing the auto tune and much more. Speaking of producers, the group ‘Internet Money Records’ has completely changed the producer game in the music industry.

Internet Money Records is a record label which has a group of producers and a group of musicians who make music. The group was created in 2016 by a music producer named Taz Taylor. He had the idea and executed it with another producer named Nick Mira. The two met online when Taylor was live streaming, and from there Mira joined and eventually they started playing video games together and the friendship and partnership began. Internet slowly grew as the two creators had started finding success in the industry with both of them becoming friends with Hip Hop sensation, Juice WRLD, and helping him produce many of the songs on his albums, including ‘All Girls Are The Same’, ‘Robbery’ and producing other hit songs like ‘F*ck Love’ by XXXTentacion’ and ‘Ransom’ by Lil Tecca.

Prior to their first album which released on August 29th, 2020, the group would only be featured on other artists songs or albums rather than them having their own songs and having the artists feature on their album. After the group started expanding, they would go from two to five producers, then from five to ten and as of now there are over fifteen members a part of the group Internet Money Records. The group also has their side of artists, not only producers. The goal for the artists is that they sign younger and less known artists and help produce their music after signing them to their record label, and in the future help them make it big in the music industry. So far their plan has worked well with the signing of Trippie Redd, Iann Dior, Surfaces and many more.

The album that was released on August 29th is titled ‘B4 THE STORM’ and in fact did take the world by storm. The album is a seventeen track album with twenty-eight features including artists such as Trippie Redd, Iann Dior, Lil Mosey, Lil Tecca, Lil Skies, Gunna, Nav, The Kid Laroi, Juice WRLD, Swae Lee, Future, Don Toliver and many more. There are many songs on the album that are hit worthy and the main ones are ‘Lemonade’, ‘Somebody’, ‘Blastoff’, ‘Lost Me’ and many other tracks. The versatility on this album between artists and producers can be shown on every track and therefore the album will be receiving a 9/10.
